1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using RateCarriers.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Who Can Use This Site

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, submit a review, or post a comment on RateCarriers. The Site is intended for commercial truck drivers, including company drivers, owner-operators, and individuals holding or pursuing a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

3. What RateCarriers Is

RateCarriers is a platform where drivers can anonymously rate and review trucking carriers based on their firsthand experience. RateCarriers is not a broker, staffing agency, or party to any employment relationship between drivers and carriers. We do not verify every factual claim made in a review, and reviews reflect the opinions and experiences of individual drivers, not the views of RateCarriers.

4. Driver Accounts and Handles

  • To submit reviews or comments, you must set a driver handle (username). This handle is permanent once set and cannot later be changed to a different handle.
  • Handles must be unique and between 3–24 characters (letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes).
  • Your real name is never displayed publicly and is not shared with carriers.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your handle.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. User-Submitted Content

  • You own your content. Reviews, ratings, and comments you submit remain yours.
  • You grant us a license. By submitting content, you grant RateCarriers a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site and in connection with operating the Site (for example, in aggregate scores and leaderboards).
  • You are responsible for what you post. You represent that your reviews and comments are based on your genuine experience and that you have the right to post them.

6. Content Standards

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is knowingly false, or that you have no reasonable basis to believe is true
  • Harasses, threatens, or incites violence against any person or organization
  • Contains hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Infringes another party’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
  • Is spam, or is posted to manipulate a carrier’s score (including coordinated review-bombing)
  • Violates any applicable law

We reserve the right, but do not assume an obligation, to review, remove, or restrict any content that violates these standards. Removed content that violates a driver’s stated experience in good faith may still be preserved internally for legal/compliance purposes rather than permanently deleted, consistent with our moderation policy.

Reporting concerning content: If you believe a comment or review contains a credible threat of violence, please report it immediately using the Report function or contact us directly. Content of this nature is treated as a priority and, where appropriate, escalated beyond ordinary content moderation.

7. How Scores Are Calculated

Each carrier’s overall score (0–100) is calculated using the same weighted formula for every listing, based on driver-submitted ratings across seven categories: Safety, Pay, Equipment, Management, Dispatch, Home Time, and Benefits. Scores are generated mechanically from submitted ratings — RateCarriers does not manually adjust, edit, or override any carrier’s score.

8. Carriers: Claiming a Listing and Responding to Reviews

Carriers may claim their listing at no cost. Once claimed, a carrier may publicly respond to reviews. A carrier can never pay RateCarriers, directly or indirectly, to change a score, remove a legitimate review, or influence how their listing is displayed. Any paid placement offered on the Site (for example, sponsored positioning) is clearly labeled as such and has no effect on scores or review content.

9. Copyright / DMCA Policy

RateCarriers respects intellectual property rights and responds to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

The Site and all content on it are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. RateCarriers does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any review, rating, or score. Reviews reflect individual driver opinions and experiences, which may vary.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RateCarriers and its owners/operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including decisions made based on carrier scores or reviews.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RateCarriers harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, carriers, or the Site.
